DURBAN - Property company Homii Lifestyle may find itself in court.
A preliminary investigation has made damning findings against the company at the Durban apartment building where twins Aphile and Aphelele Dlamini fell into an open lift shaft.

Aphelele did not survive the fall, while his sister remains in critical condition.
It was the second fatal incident at that building, after twenty-year-old Andiswa Mantshongo fell to her death in a lift shaft while visiting a friend in 2023.
A preliminary probe has found that the lift shaft the twins fell into was insufficiently secured. There was a lack of proper isolation and barricading at the lift entrance, and a failure to post warning signs to deter entry.
Nontuthuko Mantshongo, the mother of the twins, says:
"I felt inexplicable pain. Things became blurred. I did not even know what to say. It was an extreme pain, which to this day I still feel. And I think it’s something I need to learn to live with."
eNCA’s Nkosikhona Malinga-Mnisi spoke to Jomo Sibiya, Employment and Labour Deputy Minister who said that this was "a preventable incident by the way".
Sibiya has confirmed that they will speak to the Mantshongos, look into their case and offer all necessary assistance.
