BLOEMHOF, NW - Residents and businesses along the Vaal River are getting their lives back on track, after heavy rains caused the nearby dam to flood.
In Bloemhof in the North West, many are criticising authorities for being slow to offer assistance.
On the 7th July, the COGTA Minister announced a disaster management grant allocation to the North West of R50.5 Billion.

While several municipalities in the province affected by the April floods have been granted disaster management funds, Lekwa-Teemane Municipality in Bloemhof and Christiana have received no assistance.
Residents believe if this river were managed well, they would not find themselves in this difficult situation.
