WATCH: Attack on taxi driver condemned

Assault of taxi driver condemned Part 1 (1)

DURBAN - The social justice movement and lobby group Not In My Name is condemning the violent attack of a male taxi driver by a woman.

The woman was caught on camera assaulting the driver, who she claims hit her car.

She went on social media confessing to the assault, writing that she started her day by beating up a taxi driver and was high on adrenaline.

Not In My Name says it learned that members of the SAPS at Durban North Police Station refused to open the case of assault against the woman.

It says this is inconsistent with the Constitution and undermines the country’s criminal justice system.

The movement is calling for the immediate dismissal of the officers involved and for the woman to face the full might of the law.
