WATCH: Baloyi says Mashaba didn’t trust him
JOHANNESBURG - Former ActionSA Gauteng leader Bongani Baloyi says he has left the party due to differences with party president, Herman Mashaba.
Baloyi says Mashaba demoted him to national spokesperson over issues of trust.
He leaves the party just over a year after joining it from the Democratic Alliance.
"I was called to a meeting last week Monday," Baloyi explained.
He said that Mashaba opened the meeting by saying that there was a breakdown of the relationship between the two.
According to Baloyi, the relationship is irreconcilable.
"That breakdown has led to a situation where there's distrust between me and him," says Baloyi.
Meanwhile, Baloyi says he leaves ActionSA better than he found it.
He says despite the party lacking political consciousness and understanding on many other issues, he played a major role in its growth.
