WATCH: KZN TVET college workers protest over salaries

Workers from Coastal KZN TVET College in Durban are protesting over the late payment of salaries for the past few months.

DURBAN - The Public Servants Association is calling on Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande to fix salary issues at the Coastal TVET college in Durban.

Employees took to the streets on Thursday following several months of late payments and some staff receiving half salaries.

PSA’s Mlungisi Ndlovu says the director general must be held accountable for the mess at the college.

He says some employees have had their assets repossessed.

"Service providers have not been paid, students are not getting food," he said.

"The staff morale is very low. It is for this reason that we say, as PSA we will never allow injustice to happen in front of our eyes.

"Minister Blade Nzimande must stop everything and come fix this mess in this particular college.”
