WATCH: Mkhwebane's CR17 campaign claims

Suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane continues her testimony at the parliamentary inquiry into her fitness to hold office.

CAPE TOWN - Not only did President Cyril Ramaphosa know who funded his campaign to become ANC president in 2017, he also lied to the Zondo Commission about the amount that went into the campaign.

These were two of the allegations made by suspended Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane at her impeachment inquiry.

She mapped out how she came to her CR17-Bosasa findings.

Mkhwebane says records reveal that hundreds of millions of rands went into the campaign.

She testified that during her investigation, several accounts were used to mobilise funds for the CR17 campaign and some of the beneficiaries were senior members of the ANC.

Mkhwebane also claims that R8-million was used to fund hotel accommodations for delegates who attended the ANC national conference in 2017.
