WATCH | Murder and extortion in Gugulethu

CAPE TOWN - An extra 83 police officers and 36 vehicles will be deployed in Cape Town after 13 people were killed in Gugulethu within a week.

Police Minister Bheki Cele says a police brigadier is being brought in to head a unit dealing with the mass murders in the Western Cape.

At a crime imbizo in Gugulethu, residents appealed to Cele to deal urgently with extortion-related killings.
