WATCH: Police ready for national shutdown

Police warn anyone causing disruptions or intimidating others during Monday's national shutdown will face the full might of the law.

JOHANNESBURG - Anyone caught breaking the law or forcing people to stay away from work on Monday will be arrested.

Police Minister Bheki Cele says his officers are ready and will be out in full force on Monday during the EFF's planned shutdown.

"Those that will be marching have a right to march, but there are restrictions and ways and measures to be followed.

"They do not have permission or right to harm anybody, block any South African that wants to go to work," Cele said.

"You will protect those that want to go to work, those that are on the roads. Nobody should loot or force anybody to close business.

"You shall be there refuse anybody and stop anybody that is trying to force anybody to do anything against his or her will."
