JOHANNESBURG - South Africa's unemployment rate dipped slightly again between October and December last year to 32.7% from 32.9%.
But when considering discouraged jobless South Africans who are not actively looking for work, the country’s unemployment rate is 42.6%.
This means that more than 11.8 million South Africans are out of work.
Economists blame the slowing global growth, persistent power cuts, and depressed business confidence for the economy’s weak job creation potential.
