JOHANNESBURG - Joburg residents are experiencing mixed fortunes on Saturday morning.

The water supply in the city is slowly being restored, but other areas are experiencing outages.

Johannesburg Water says technical teams started pumping water through the Crown Gardens reservoir and tower, in the early hours of the morning.

The utility says high lying areas will start receiving water, and the system is gradually filling up but residents have to be mindful of low pressure.

In the northern parts of the city, work is underway to restore services, around Fourways, Lonehill, Pineslopes, Witkoppen and Beverly.

The water utility says valves haven't been fully opened yet, as technicians inspect possible leaks.

This follows a major pipe burst on Witkoppen Road.
