CAPE TOWN - ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the party’s leadership is prepared to intervene to stabilise the Western Cape’s struggling Provincial Executive Committee if necessary.
The ANC’s National Working Committee has been touring the province’s six regions to assess the health of the organisation on the ground.
In Cape Town, the national leadership met with the Provincial Executive Committee to consolidate reports from regional visits.
The ANC is facing an uphill battle to regain political ground in the Western Cape, and the national leadership has expressed concern about the province’s readiness ahead of next year’s crucial local government elections.
