Weather warning | Eastern Cape disaster management on high alert
CATHCART - The Eastern Cape MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Zolile Williams, is urging residents to remain vigilant amid severe weather across the province.
Gale-force winds are wreaking havoc along the coastline and interior.
The strong winds are bringing some shipping operations at the Port of East London to a grinding halt.
Conditions are also not conducive for sailing along parts of the coastline.
The NSRI has told swimmers to avoid rough seas.
Provincial and Disaster Management teams say they will remain on high alert, monitoring any weather patterns that could become life-threatening emergencies.
