JOHANNESBURG - A 24-year-old woman has been reported missing after being swept away by floods in the Western Cape.
It's understood she was trying to walk over a low water bridge.
Meanwhile, snow is expected in all provinces this week except for Limpopo.
The South African Weather Service says this extreme winter weather, is due to a powerful cold front, combined with a cut-off low-pressure system.
Widespread snowfall accompanied by heavy rain, and plunging temperatures, are forecast for most of the country's provinces.
The intense weather system is expected to continue until midweek.
Emergency services have now been placed on high alert.
