CAPE TOWN - The Electoral Commission in the Western Cape has rolled up its sleeves ahead of the voter registration this weekend.
Officials assured that they have enough staff and Voter Management Devices to enable a modern operation.
These devices will enable real-time citizen verification and the accurate capture of voter details.

Western Cape IEC Electoral Officer Michael Hendrickse has appealed to citizens to update their details.
Home Affairs offices will also be open this weekend for anyone who may need help with their ID.
"If you're not registered by the time the minister proclaims the election, it'll be too late for you to register thereafter. This is the time that we urge South Africans to register or update their details.
Registration stations will be open from 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
