The Constitutional Court is to hear arguments over Shell's right to conduct seismic surveys on the Wild Coast.

The Supreme Court of Appeal concurred with a high court decision that Shell was illegally awarded oil exploration rights.

However, it put a hold on the invalidity of the rights, to allow Shell an opportunity to seek renewal.

Challengers want the apex court to reverse this ruling.
