World TB Day | NGOs call for more intervention

JOHANNESBURG - World TB Day raises awareness about the virus and aid efforts to end the global epidemic.

The World Health Organization has declared this year's theme as 'Yes! We can end TB!' and it aims to inspire hope and encourage high-level leadership to do more to accelerate efforts to curb it.

Last year alone, South Africa reported over 300,000 cases of TB.  

Russell Rensburg from the Rural Health Advocacy Project says government should do more to ensure South Africa meets its goal to end TB.
