JOHANNESBURG - International relations expert Zeenat Adam has warned the Middle East conflict could escalate to a World War.
She said Israel is not content with taking down Iran alone and will go after other countries in the region.
Adam said while some states are trying to mediate, Iran is not ready to talk.
“The only way that I can see this moving forward is if major powers are able to try and mediate with these countries to de-escalate the situation. Behind the scenes, we are seeing a lot of countries trying to do that, but tensions are exceptionally high right now. Most of the parties are uninterested in this, especially from the Iranian side after the decapitation of their leaders."
She added: "We need to prepare for the worst. Israel is pulling the strings. They would want to see this continue beyond Iran and target countries like Turkey and Qatar. If this continues, some people think it will be a world war."
