Gender Equality | Correcting injustices of the past

 

JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has underlined how his government has helped empower black South Africans and women.

In his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, he said women have become owners and managers, acquired land and built up assets.

The proportion of jobs in executive management held by black people increased almost five-fold between 1996 and 2016.

But are these achievements widespread?
