The court found that the manner in which President Cyril Ramaphosa went about the process of recognition was flawed.

And noted several discrepancies, in particular that opposition from family members was ignored.

One of those family members was an applicant in the court challenge, the late King Goodwill Zwelithini's half-brother, Prince Mbonisi Zulu.
