Latest figures show that a child goes missing every five hours in South Africa.

One case that has received significant publicity is that of Joshlin Smith.

It's 10 months since the seven-year-old went missing from her Saldanha Bay home in the Western Cape.

Criminologist and National Coordinator for Missing Children South Africa, Bianca van Aswegen discussed this with eNCA.
