JOHANNESBURG - Around 11 percent of all South Africans may have diabetes.
But only about half of those have been diagnosed.
Worryingly, these numbers are expected to double over the next 10 years.
"Globally as well as in South Africa the numbers are increasing," said Prof Paul Rheeder from the UP Diabetes Research Centre.
"We'll probably see a doubling of the numbers over the next ten years. This a great concern."
