CAPE TOWN - Hundreds of people have been displaced by ongoing flooding in Cape Town, as winter storms continue to batter the Western Cape.
Disaster management teams and relief organisations are on the ground, responding to localised flooding across affected communities.

While no major overnight incidents were reported, weather warnings remain in place as cold and wet conditions persist throughout the province.
Western Cape MEC for Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Anton Bredell, says the housing crisis is being worsened by people occupying land that is not suitable for development.
“People are invading land under no circumstances, should be developed," Bredell said. He added that this is a long-standing issue that contributes to the housing crisis.
