JOHANNESBURG - Schools re-open on Tuesday with a new Basic Education Minister now in office.
And as the third term gets underway, Siviwe Gwarube is pushing schools to step up the implementation of the curriculum.
Safety is also a priority and cooperation with unions will be key.
Basil Manuel represents the National Professional Teachers' Organisation of South Africa, and Xolani Fakude is from the South African Democratic Teachers Union.
They both discussed what they expect on the years ahead, with Siviwe Gwarube in charge.
