JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has assented to the Plant Health Bill.
It sets out measures to combat plant pests that may have an impact on the ability to export agricultural products.
Godfrey Kgatle, research coordinator at Grain SA, said the bill is important.
"It will play an important role in ensuring that new pests are not entering the country as well as pests that do establish themselves in the country are to some extent also eradicated," he said.
