SA explores new partnerships as relations with US go cold

JOHANNESBURG - Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, has referred to the US refugee resettlement programme benefiting white Afrikaners as ‘apartheid 2.0’.

South Africa has always maintained that Afrikaners do not fit the definition of a refugee according to the UN convention.

Lamola was asked on Wednesday about reports that the US State Department hopes to send 30 Kenyan nationals to South Africa to assist with the programme.

He said South Africa was under no obligation to expedite their visas or help the programme.
