JOHANNESBURG - Staff and learners are fretting about increased reports of school fights involving weapons.
Just last week, a grade 9 learner in the Eastern Cape was assaulted and stabbed with scissors by two fellow learners.
A principal at a school in Gauteng was stabbed while trying to defuse a violent clash between learners from West Ridge High School and Hoerskool Roodepoorts.
Also in Gauteng, a teenager was stabbed to death with a screwdriver while waiting for a school bus.
Educational psychologist, Dr Fred Schouwink, discussed the sources of this kind of behaviour with eNCA.
