SPONSORED - On Friday, the University of South Africa will bestow an honorary doctorate of philosophy in theology on His Grace Bishop Engenas Joseph Lekganyane of the St. Engenas Zion Christian Church (ZCC). 

Lekganyane was installed as the spiritual leader and bishop of the St. Engenas Zion Christian Church at a conference held at Zion City, Moria, in 1975 and served as its leader since.

The honourary doctorate is conferred to recognise the bishop's exceptional contributions to peace, social cohesion, and the resilience of African-initiated institutions in the 21st century.

Lekganyane has been called a "transformative and compassionate leader who has brought hope, healing, and restoration to countless lives".
