ER24 says traffic congestion caused by load-shedding can affect emergency response times.
Unstable cellphone networks can result in emergency calls failing to connect.
"Unfortunately, load-shedding has led to significant implications for all emergency services," said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
"With a number of traffic lights being out, this leads to congestion, an increased response time of all our services."
