Nobody wants to talk about cancer. Yet, breast cancer is the most common cancer to affect South African women and one in 27 of us is likely to get it. It’s also the second most deadly cancer affecting local women, beaten only by cervical cancer.

The stats are alarming but what’s even more disturbing are the stories coming from the public sector, which the vast majority of South Africans are reliant on. With the positive pink messages of Breast Cancer Awareness month behind us, #TheDeviShow takes a frank look at the breast cancer journey for public sector patients.
