#TheDeviShow visits the small agricultural town of Frankfort, in the Free State where the community and an energy company have set up their own backup plan - a R100 million rand solar plant to help void loadshedding and keep the town ticking over.

Since loadshedding began in 2008, Eskom has stumbled from one crisis and scandal to another.  Last year, after fourteen years of corruption, their inability to keep the lights on saw the country plunged to Stage 6 power cuts, crippling an already weakened economy.

But despite their investment and foresight, Eskom has pulled the plug.
