In this, our third episode on builder and developer Renaldo Nortje, he faces off with members of a stokvel who bought a stand in his Boksburg-based Sunset Palms development.
After watching our last show, the group realised that Renaldo’s many excuses for the delays in the property being transferred into their name, was part of his MO.
A protest was held at his offices and, following a tip-off, we were there to witness it all. The scene which greeted us, was nothing short of extraordinary – taking matters into their own hands, members of the stokvel insisted Renaldo hand over his Mercedes as collateral. To seal the deal, he is also loaded into a taxi by the group and hauled off to the local police station to sign off on the arrangement.
For once the man, who defaults to dropping to K bombs, body shaming and insults looked uneasy and uncomfortable.
