SUGEN NAIR AND THE MISSING MILLIONS

Telecommunications is big business around the world. In South Africa it's a multi-billion-rand industry generating solid profits. And it's this strong reputation that businessman Sugen Nair peddled to potential investors in his One World Telecoms business a decade ago offering lucrative investment opportunities in his data and airtime bundle business, promising impressive returns. Friends and investors bought in and forked out millions but the promised returns never materialised. Lawyers tried in vain to get him to pay back the money and eventually even private investigators were hired. It took a decade of cat and mouse games to get him inside a courtroom in the hope of securing justice for his alleged victims - but now there's a sad twist to this sorry tale.
