JOHANNESBURG - There's been a rapid surge in gang violence in Johannesburg in recent months.
Flare-ups have been escalating in hotspot areas like Eldorado Park and Westbury, as well as in Reiger Park, east of the city.
Communities in these areas are at their wits' end and are calling for more police visibility and intelligence-driven clampdowns.
3But these are quick fixes. We pose the question: What is the long-term solution to gang violence?
