JOHANNESBURG - It has been nearly 5 decades since the first recorded case of HIV was detected, but since then many interventions have been developed to manage this disease.

However, many people are unaware that, since 2016, clinics and pharmacies have been implementing Prep, or Pre-exposure prophylaxis, a medication taken daily to prevent contracting HIV.
