Political parties are once again making big promises in a bid to win votes but we've heard it all before.

Despite their undertakings, millions of people are still waiting for houses, clean running water and, most shamefully, toilets.

About 2.4% of households still have no water-borne sewerage or use bucket toilets. 

So what do we make of election promises?
