JOHANNESBURG - SASCOC has suspended its president Barry Hendricks with immediate effect over allegations of interference in an April board by-election.
Hendricks is accused of trying to persuade board members to vote for a candidate of his choice during the election.
Retired Judge Basheer Waglay was appointed to investigate the complaints and found there was sufficient evidence for them to be referred for further action.
Hendricks will remain suspended while an internal investigation into the allegations continues.
SASCOC Vice President Lwandile Simelane will take over as acting president of the national Olympic body in the interim.
