DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal Athletics President Steve Mkasi has been suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.
His suspension follows a viral video showing him involved in a street brawl at the weekend.
Mkasi has since issued a public apology on Facebook, admitting he made an error in judgment.
The altercation reportedly involved AmaRavens Athletics Club athlete Sphephelo Ndlovu on Saturday.
This reportedly after allegations that Ndlovu had posted critical comments about Mkasi on social media.
In a letter to affiliated clubs, the KZN Athletics board said Mkasi's conduct had the potential to bring the sport into disrepute.
