Family and friends prepare to bid 'Bibo' farewell

EAST LONDON - Family, friends and the rugby community are preparing to bid farewell to rising rugby star Luqobo Makwedini. 

The 20-year-old former South African Under-18 and SA Schools prop died in France earlier this month.

Remembered for his passion on the field and his vibrant personality off it, Makwedini's death has shocked many.

The former U-18 tighthead prop had just embarked on a 3-year contract with the Beziers in France.

He was already being considered for the senior team but died before he could make kick-off.

The 20-year-old succumbed to what is believed to be heatstroke after a training session in France.

The family says he will be buried on Saturday in his hometown.
