JOHANNESBURG - South Africans came together to bid farewell to Bafana Bafana as they embark on their journey to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The sendoff culminated in a friendly against Ghana at the Dobsonville Stadium on Tuesday evening, which they won 1-0.
Coach Hugo Broos opted to leave many of his regular starters on the bench, including usual captain Ronwen Williams, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Oswin Appolis, Khuliso Mudau and Teboho Mokoena.
While there were concerns over the overall performance, Broos believes the team will be ready for the pressure that awaits them when they face Angola at the Marrakesh Stadium on Monday.
They will follow it up with a match against Egypt four days later, and conclude their Group matches against Zimbabwe on 29 December.
