Blind cricket | Proteas ready for World Cup glory

JOHANNESBURG - Another global cricket event is about to begin, with the T20 World Cup for the blind starting on Monday.

South Africa will have a squad of 17 made up of six totally blind or almost blind players, five partially blind participants and six partially-sighted athletes, according to categories.

South Africa reached the final and won the inaugural edition of the 40-over Blind Cricket World Cup in 1998.

The team opens their campaign against defending champions Pakistan on Tuesday.
