JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named a strong 38-man preliminary squad for two international friendlies against Panama.
Olwethu Makhanya of Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer is on the list for the first time.
The other surprise inclusion is Stellenbosch FC midfielder Mthetheleli Mthiyane.
Meanwhile out of form Sipho Mbule, Bathusi Aubaas, Shandre Campbell and Elias Mokwana miss out.
The squad which is dominated by Orlando Pirates and Sundowns players will be reduced at a later stage.
The two friendlies to prepare for the World Cup will be played on the 27th and 31st of March in Durban and Cape Town.
