JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has trimmed his squad down to 23 players for the upcoming friendlies with Mozambique and Angola.

Captain Ronwen Williams, Veli Mothwa and Melusi Buthelezi are the three goalkeepers who made the final squad, while Ricardo Goss misses out.

Mamelodi Sundowns have no less than four players in defence, though Khuliso Mudau was dropped for Sydney Mobbie. Overseas-based Thibang Phete and Siyanda Xulu also made the cut.

The biggest news in midfield is the omission of Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart while Miguel Timm is expected to compete for a starting place.

Mihlali Mayambela who scored on debut last time out and Themba Zwane form part of the seven-men forwards.

South Africa face neighbours Mozambique at Mbombela Stadium on 17 November before locking horns with Angola at the same venue three days later.
