CAPE TOWN - Shock and disbelief struck 24 000 athletes at the Cape Town Marathon on 19 October 2025.
Athletes were informed just an hour before the start that their dream marathon had been cancelled.
Organisers attributed the decision to safety concerns, saying that gale-force winds had toppled structures overnight.
