RAWALPINDI - The Proteas have drawn first blood in a three-match T20 series against Pakistan.
The visitors batted first in Rawalpindi.
Quinton de Kock was back from his two-year absence after coming out of retirement.
He and fellow opener Reeza Hendricks handed South Africa a brilliant start before he was removed by Saim Ayub.
Hendricks anchored the innings as he reached a half ton, while Tony de Zorzi and George Linde also chipped in with 33 and 38 runs respectively.
The Proteas reached a competitive score of 194 for nine after 20 overs.
It was always going to be a tall order for the home side to chase down 195 for victory.
Corbin Bosch claimed a four-wicket haul, while man of the match Linde finished with the figures of 3 for 31.
In the end, Pakistan were dismissed for 139 as South Africa wrapped up a comfortable 55-run victory.
The second match is in Lahore on Friday.
