Currie Cup | Marutlulle first coaching casualty

JOHANNESBURG - Blue Bulls coach Edgar Marutlulle has become the first coaching casualty in this year's Currie Cup competition.

The Pretoria-based franchise confirmed in a statement that Marutlulle has been relieved of his duties with the team at the bottom of the league and four straight losses.

The Bulls suffered a humiliating 63-15 loss at home with their latest defeat coming at the hands of an unfancied Griffons side in Welkom last week.

Marutlulle will return to coaching junior rugby at Loftus Versfeld while director of rugby Jake White will take over the reins in the Currie Cup.
