DURBAN - Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is available to make his return to action after serving a 12-match ban following an eye-gouging incident.
The Sharks are welcoming his return as they set their sights on the EPCR Challenge Cup, where they take on Connacht in the last-16.
The 12-match ban came after an unpleasant incident involving Wales flanker Alex Mann during last year’s international window.
Despite not playing competitive rugby, Etzebeth has been involved in training with the Sharks and was part of the latest Springbok alignment camp.
Coach JP Pietersen will welcome the lock’s return with the Durban side also eyeing a strong push for the play-offs in the United Rugby Championship.
