JOHANNESBURG - A group of young footballers from Cape Town is stranded in Europe after participating in a tournament in Spain.
While some have managed to return home, several remain in Portugal, unable to afford flights back to South Africa.

The BT Football Academy confirmed that a number of children are still stuck abroad due to financial constraints.
Virgil Martin, the father of one of the players, expressed his frustration, saying he refuses to believe the explanations given by the academy’s chairman.
“I paid the travel agency and some of the parents,” Martin said. “I refuse to believe the lies being told.”
