Kolbe set to rejoin the Stormers

JOHANNESBURG - Double rugby world cup winner Cheslin Kolbe has announced he will rejoin the Stormers next season.

He will join fellow Springbok match day squad members Siya Kolisi and Wilco Louw at the Cape side.

Kolbe returns to the Stormers following his departure in 2017 when he joined Toulouse in France, before switching to Japan in 2023.

His deal is understood to have required a major financial push involving the Stormers and other stakeholders like SA Rugby to be confirmed.

This after he recently extended his contract with the Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath until the end of the 2026-27 season.

This meant the Stormers reportedly needed outside help to buy the 32-year-old out of his Japanese deal.
