CRANS-MONTANA - Thriston Lawrence produced a stunning final-round fightback to claim his third European Masters title, edging Paul Casey in a dramatic sudden-death play-off at Crans-Montana, Switzerland.
The 29-year-old South African began the final round six shots behind overnight leader Casey but produced the round of the day when it mattered most.
Lawrence fired an extraordinary 8-under-par 62 to drag himself back into contention and set up a thrilling finish.
Casey, the former Ryder Cup star, appeared to have done enough to secure victory after holding a one-shot advantage heading into the final hole.

But the tournament took another dramatic twist.
Casey bogeyed the 18th, allowing Lawrence to draw level and forcing the title into a play-off.
Neither player could settle the contest immediately, with the pair battling through three sudden-death holes.
Then, on the fourth play-off hole, Lawrence delivered the decisive blow.
A birdie was enough to secure the title and complete a remarkable turnaround for the South African.
He climbed into the world's top 70 following his victory in Switzerland 12 months ago, but a poor run of form since then saw him tumble to 183rd in the world rankings.
