Le Clos, Schoenmaker qualify for World Champs

DURBAN - Chad le Clos and Tatjana Schoenmaker impressed at the World Aquatic Championship trials in Durban.

The pair swam their best times to qualify for the World Champs to be held in Doha next February.  

Le Clos and Schoenmaker are also keeping a close eye on the 2024 Paris Olympic games.  

Le Clos said he was happy to be back in Durban.

"This is not really my main race. I am focusing more on the sprints now at the moment but I’m happy to get the time," he said.

Schoenmaker said she was happy with her times.

"I wasn’t expecting to swim those fast times. I haven’t been hitting those fast times comfortably so to be able to just come at a gala and swim those times is amazing," she said.
